A Delectable Experience at Via 313: Detroit Style Pizza at Its Finest

If you're a pizza aficionado residing in our area, chances are you've heard the buzz surrounding the new Detroit-style pizzeria, Via 313. Erik had been itching to try their unique take on this classic dish for quite some time. So, we finally took the plunge and decided to order takeout from this highly acclaimed spot.

Upon browsing the menu, it's evident that Via 313 isn't your typical pizza joint. Their dedication to creating authentic Detroit-style pizza, characterized by its thick, fluffy crust and signature rectangular shape, sets them apart from the crowd. Eager to dive in, we opted for their cheese bread and a large half-and-half pizza, featuring the 'Detroiter' on one side and the 'Cadillac' on the other.

The 'Detroiter' is a meat lover's dream, boasting a generous layer of pepperoni both under and on top of the melted cheese. It's a hearty, flavorful option that had Erik raving from the first bite. On the flip side, the 'Cadillac' caters to the more adventurous palate, featuring a decadent combination of gorgonzola, fig preserves, prosciutto, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. As a fan of unique and bold flavor combinations, I was immediately drawn to this option.

Much to our delight, our daughters, Jules and Madi, mirrored our pizza preferences, ensuring that everyone had their fair share of their preferred slice. The Cadillac, with its sweet and savory profile, was a hit with Jules, while Madi couldn't get enough of the classic, pepperoni-packed Detroiter.

When it comes to pricing, Via 313 is on the pricier side, but it's important to note that this is not your run-of-the-mill pizza. The quality of the ingredients, the unique flavor combinations, and the expert craftsmanship justify the cost. Plus, the portion sizes are generous, ensuring that you get your money's worth.

The pizza itself was a revelation. The crust was thick and fluffy, yet crispy around the edges, creating the perfect base for the toppings. The square slices, with their edge-to-edge cheese, ensured that every bite was as delicious as the last. The Detroiter was a carnivore's delight, with the double layer of pepperoni providing a spicy kick that was perfectly balanced by the melty cheese. The Cadillac, on the other hand, was a symphony of flavors, with the tangy gorgonzola, sweet fig preserves, salty prosciutto, and acidic balsamic glaze coming together in perfect harmony. While the cheese bread was fairly standard, it was still a tasty addition to our meal, serving as a nice palate cleanser between bites of pizza.

In summary, our experience with Via 313 was nothing short of fantastic. The pizza exceeded our expectations, providing a delightful twist on a classic dish that left us craving more. Erik, a tough critic when it comes to pizza, was thoroughly impressed, and I, a more occasional pizza eater, found myself savoring every bite. Via 313 has certainly earned a spot in our regular takeout rotation, and we can't wait to explore more of their mouthwatering menu. If you're in the mood for pizza that's a cut above the rest, give Via 313 a try - your taste buds will thank you.
