July's dining adventures were a delightful mix of convenience, celebration, and culinary exploration. From a quick bagel breakfast before a family camping trip to indulgent pies after a hearty breakfast post-camp, each meal added a special flavor to our summer days. We explored new eateries, revisited old favorites, and indulged in a range of dishes from greasy breakfasts to exquisite sushi, all while enjoying the company of family and friends. Here's a taste of our July restaurant outings, each one contributing to a month full of delicious memories.
Rich’s Bagels - A Bagel Start to a Camping Trip
Our July kicked off with a quick stop at Rich’s Bagels right before our family camping trip. Erik opted for a sausage egg sandwich on an asiago bagel, which he found a bit too greasy, while I enjoyed a turkey gouda cranberry sandwich on the same type of bagel. Despite the messiness from the tomato, the flavor combination was excellent, making for a delightful start to our drive to the campsite.
Left Fork Grill - Post-Camping Breakfast Feast
Returning from camping, we craved a hearty breakfast and headed to Left Fork Grill. Madi's request for French toast and bacon was met with enthusiasm, and we dove into a variety of dishes. Erik's Eggs in a Hole and my spinach bacon gruyere cheese omelet were hits, though noted for their greasiness. The kids enjoyed their portions, especially Jules, who took a liking to the French toast. We capped off our meal with slices of blackberry peach pie and razzleberry pie, both of which were delectably satisfying.
Uncle Jeffi’s - A Redeeming Brunch Experience
A brunch meeting at Uncle Jeffi's proved much more satisfactory than a previous visit. Opting for an Asian Influence dish, the Kow Munn Gai, I enjoyed the simple yet flavorful combination of steamed chicken, rice, and ginger sauce. The Thai coconut pancakes were a repeated delight. Erik’s meat lover’s omelet takeaway was thoroughly enjoyed, marking this visit as a redeeming experience for Uncle Jeffi’s.
Maria’s Mexican Restaurant - A Flavorful Family Dinner
One evening, our craving for Mexican cuisine led us to Maria’s Mexican Restaurant. The atmosphere was lively, and the food did not disappoint. From my Maria's Mole to Erik's large combo and Madi's chicken enchilada, every dish was savored. The guacamole was a hit with the kids, and my sangria margarita added a perfect touch to the meal. We concluded with churros, which, despite a few tough pieces, were a delightful treat.
Mint Tapas and Sushi - A Hot Patio Experience with Refreshing Flavors
A get-together with gym friends brought me to Mint Tapas and Sushi on a sweltering evening. Despite the heat, the array of dishes, including baked mussels, tuna tataki, and several sushi rolls like the galaxy lollipop and stargazer, was exceptional. The spicy yet flavorful jalapeno Hamachi and the refreshingly unique I'm Late drink, made with bourbon and carrot juice, were highlights. The evening was rounded off perfectly with some ube ice cream.
Victor’s Pizza - Craving Satisfied with Taj Majal Pizza
A family pizza night saw us returning to Victor’s Pizza, where I indulged once again in the Taj Majal pizza, a unique favorite. Erik chose the Marvin pizza, packed with meats and extra marinara. Although the cheese bread was unremarkable, the pizzas themselves were thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Summit Pizza and Taco Amigo - A Family Outing with Delicious Ends
A visit to see family in Utah County led us to Summit Pizza, where we tried the chicken bacon ranch and a classic pepperoni and sausage pizza. The standout were the cheese doodles, which were exceptionally good, loaded with garlic butter and mozzarella. Our day ended with a nostalgic stop at Taco Amigo for fresh fruit shakes, a sweet treat that perfectly capped off our family outing.
July's dining experiences brought us a mix of new tastes and comforting favorites, making each meal an adventure worth savoring. From casual bagel breakfasts to gourmet dinners and delightful desserts, this month was filled with delicious moments that highlighted the joy of sharing meals with loved ones.
